We are very pleased to announce that Shanti has joined Twin Cities TMJ & Facial Pain clinic.
​
Dr. Shanti Kaimal, BDS, MS, brings 15 years of experience in orofacial pain and oral medicine to the Twin Cities TMJ & Facial Pain Clinic. Her practice philosophy centers on listening to her patients, performing a thoughtful evaluation, and empowering them to participate in managing their overall health.

Dr. Kaimal earned her Master of Science (MS) in Dentistry from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and completed the school's Graduate Program in Orofacial Pain. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain. She also holds a Fellowship in Oral Medicine through the American Academy of Oral Medicine and maintains active memberships in both academies.

She has been an integral part in the education and training of dental graduate students in her role as Director of the Orofacial Pain Residency Program at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry which has involved teaching, research and clinical patient care.

Dr. Kaimal treats both adults and children. She collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of care providers — including physical therapists, health psychologists, neurologists, and other medical and dental specialists — to manage chronic pain conditions affecting the head and neck.

Dr. David Streif graduated from The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1983 and completed the General Practice Residency in 1984. He spent 7 years in private practice in the Minneapolis area with his practice focused toward restorative and cosmetic dentistry, occlusal problems and temporomandibular disorders (TMD). In 1991 he joined the Twin Cities TMJ and Facial Pain Clinic and has devoted his clinical practice solely to the diagnosis and management of TMD since 1994. He is active in local and national dental societies and is a member of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. He has presented lectures relating to head and neck injuries and TMD at state and local dental society meetings.Â

Kim is our experienced and friendly front office administrator. She will assist you with checking in for your appointment, updating your health history and scheduling your next appointment as well as answering other general questions. Kim has been with the Twin Cities TMJ & Facial Pain Clinic team for over 5 years.
